Michelle Parsons’s Privacy Policy

https://michelleparsons.blog/ is governed by the following privacy policy.

I respect your privacy and am committed to protecting it. The purpose of this privacy policy is to inform you what Personally Identifiable Information (PII) I collect and how it may be used. PII, as described by the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and United States privacy laws, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context.

What Information Do I Collect and How Do I Use It?

Information You Voluntarily Submit to the Website: I may collect personal information from you such as your name or email address. For example, you may voluntarily submit information to the website by leaving a comment, subscribing to a newsletter, or submitting a contact form. I use this information to send you emails about new blog posts, or to respond to comments and questions you send to me via the contact form. I do not use your personal information for marketing purposes nor do I sell or give your personal information to third-party companies.

Cookies: I may log information using cookies, which are small data files stored on your browser by the Website. I may use both session cookies, which expire when you close your browser, and persistent cookies, which stay on your browser until deleted, to provide you with a more personalized experience on my blog website. I also use this information to compile aggregate data about site traffic and interactions so that I can provide better user experiences and tools in the future. I may also use third-party services such as Mail Chimp and Google Analytics to help me track this data.

This site is scanned for potential malware and vulnerabilities by Sucuri’s SiteCheck. We do not send personal information to Sucuri; however, Sucuri could find personal information posted publicly (such as in comments) during their scan. For more details, please see Sucuri’s privacy policy.

When visitors leave comments on the site, I collect the visitor’s IP address, browser user agent string, referrer, and site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, email address, and the comment itself) to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Rights Regarding Your Personal Information

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Opt-out – You can opt-out of future email communications by following the unsubscribe links in my emails. You may also notify me at michelle@michelleparsons.blog to be removed from my mailing list.

Access – You can access the personal information I have about you by submitting a request to me at michelle@michelleparsons.blog.

Amend – You can contact me at michelle@michelleparsons.blog to amend or update your personal information.

Forget – In certain situations, you can request that I erase or forget your personal data. To do so, please submit a request at: michelle@michelleparsons.blog.

Please note that I may need to retain certain information for record keeping purposes or to complete transactions, or when required by law.

How Do I Protect Your Information?

My website is regularly scanned for security vulnerabilities. I only post articles. I do not ask for credit card numbers. You are not required to create a user profile to read my articles.
